Hello,
I did this collection of photographs for my column over at Holly's inspiring
Decor8.
I had lots of family and friends in town the last couple weeks, so of course we all ended up at the beach. It seems that when you live in Southern California you just have to take out of town guests to the beach. Even though I tend to burn easily, I put on some sunscreen and dealt with the heat. I must say, I had so much fun running around taking pictures and I felt quite inspired. Seeing my three year old daughter in her glory was also a treat. If you are ever in Santa Monica, CA you must visit
this beach as it has a cafe where you can eat right on the beach or do take out for a picnic! There is also a fabulous pool and lots of little play areas for kids.
Some of the fabrics in this post came from the amazing
ReproDepot Fabrics and
PurlSoho. The vintage buttons are from the
French General and the tea tin is from
Jonathan Wright Company. The sun print paper came from
Steve Spangler Science. I used over head projector sheets to create the text and the tile pattern on the sun print paper. You can simply print out a pattern onto overhead sheets using an ink jet printer and then put it on top of the sun print paper just like all the other items. I like the effect, don't you?
Have a good weekend!
