Lemon Yellow, Grey and Kraft Paper

Hello Friends,

Here is my recent color story for my "Color Me Pretty" column over on decor8. I enjoyed using a combination of colors that I had not used before. Lemon yellow mixed with grey, white and kraft paper brown. I was surprised how fun it was and what a nice transition palette it is from winter to spring. Please head over to decor8 to read more!

Trader Joe's & A Little Red

Hello Friends,

I wanted to show you some wrapping I did using my used Trader Joe's holiday shopping bags. I had been admiring the illustrations on their bags and then I read this post by Merrilee of mermag and got very inspired to wrap my little presents using my old shopping bags. I decided to dress them up with a little tape and some twine. I was pretty happy with how they turned out, what do you think? If you live near a Trader Joe's you now have another excuse to head on over or save the bags from your recycle bin. I am sure there are some other nice paper grocery bags that could be used in this way. I think San Vicente Foods in Brentwood CA has nice striped bags...hmmm...can you think of any others?

Neutrals and Rose

Hello Friends,

Happy November! I wanted to share this collection of photos with you as I thought you may enjoy them. I love naturals and creams mixed with a little toasty rose. I seem to have many photographs in this color palette and you will probably see more here again soon. I can't help it!

The overstuffed notebook in the photos is filled with small cuttings of paper, fabric, ribbons and photographs. I like making small projects like this that can archive my interests at a certain time and is really easy to carry around. Being that the notebook was so small it filled very quickly and I find myself enjoying going back through it again and again. I am now starting another one. It is not about words, only images and textures.

The Billet zine I photographed is beautiful but really hard to find. The Nani Iro book I have opened in my studio is lovely and is filled with many sewing projects. Some of the new ribbons I have for all the birthday wrapping I seem to be doing are from Anthropologie.
