Color Me Pretty Time

 

Hello Friends,

If you have a chance please join me over at Holly's decor8 for my "Color Me Pretty" column. Yes, it is all about blues and a little red! I went through some of the files that were recovered from my very broken hard drive and found these old images from last summer that I combined with a couple of the photographs that I took for the new series. I wanted to check in here and say hello!  Did you have a good weekend? I had a busy one as we turned most of our backyard into a vegetable garden. It is nice to be able to teach my kids more about food and how it can be produced. I will be back later in the week to post a link to the color story I am wrapping up today. Rose Story Farm

Hello Friends,

I visited the Rose Story Farm on Saturday with my mom. What a gorgeous place in Carpinteria, CA. I first heard about the farm in the March 2009 issue of Martha Stewart Living and I marked it down on my calendar as a must see this year. The scent alone was worth the two hour drive! This family run farm specializes in fragrant, romantic roses in all shapes and sizes. Walking amongst their blooms really raised my spirits and has inspired me to get back outside into my tiny little garden. I may also have to head to the flower market tomorrow to find some old fashioned garden roses for a bouquet. It really is all about that beautiful scent, don't you think? Thank you Rose Story Farm for reminding me!

Corals, Spring Greens and a Little Blue

Hello Friends,          

How are you? I just returned from another trip to Canada and will now have some time in my studio. There are lots of projects I have on the go and I will share them with you as I complete them. The photos in this post are from my Color Me Pretty column a couple weeks ago. I tried to format them a little differently (to make them interesting for you) using clipart borders which I then made into frames. I know many of you have been asking about the frames I put around my images and most of them are Japanese clipart I purchased in Tokyo in the Fall. There are many clipart stores online that you can download borders and frames from for a small fee to help jazz up your own posts or images. You can also buy clipart collection books at many computer stores.

I am off to pick up the remains of my old hard drive! Tonight I will be going through all the photograph files to see what is left. I will be back with more for you later this week.
