I wanted to share the photographs I took for my Color Me Pretty column. In case you missed it, I was inspired by a recent photo shoot on the Anthropologie website and thought it would be fun to do some photos using some of the colors they show. I liked the combination of dark orange, gold, deep blue and tan. I also liked the Italian cafe feel and wanted to pull in elements of travel and of course warm drinks. I do like my coffee hot even if it is warm outside!
Talking about food and drink, I just got back from a fabulous Ace Camp weekend with Helene Dujardin of the Tartelette blog. She led an intense two day food photography and styling workshop in Santa Fe. It was a real challenge for me as I have not taken many photographs of food! However, I was in great hands as Helene is a wonderful instructor and I learned lots of new techniques. She is so patient and very generous with her knowledge. I hope to start taking a few shots now and then of what I make in the kitchen and sharing them with you. If you are interested in learning more about food photography, Helene's book "From Plate to Pixel" is excellent.
