Hello and Happy Holidays,
I wanted to post the photographs from my most recent Color Me Pretty column on decor8. I used a fresh palette of mint green, aqua and a little orange red. I was inspired by an old photo I found of my aunt at the Calgary Stampede in the late sixties or early seventies. My mother took the photo of my aunt looking out the window right before they set out on an adventure. I now have the photo on the wall in my studio. I just love the pale minty color tones in it and the expression on my aunt's face. Priceless.
Since moving to Vancouver Island I have been on a driftwood hunt. I love the look of painted drfitwood sticks and decided to give it a try for this series. There are so many alternative trees being shared this holiday season online that I thought a driftwood one would be sweet. I think I will mount the sticks on a board so that I can prop it up next year.
You can read more about these photographs over on decor8 here.
I hope you are able to have some time to create during these last December days or at least time to ponder what you will create in the New Year.
See you back here soon,
xoleslie
