Happy Spring

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

It has been a beautiful spring holiday weekend here in Victoria. Clear blue skies and cherry blossoms everywhere! Today I spent three hours on the beach with my family. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and hunted for sea glass. I imagine collecting enough to fill some jars in varying colors. One jar filled with blue glass pieces, another with green glass and one with clear white pieces. I think that the collection of jars could look really pretty on a shelf, don't you? I have seen some people collect a tiny bit of sand from various beaches they have visited on holidays. I like the idea of gathering pretty specimens that take you back to a place.

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians and Happy July 4th weekend to my American friends and family. I am off tomorrow for a short trip to Japan. Flowers with Purple and Yellow

Hello,

Here are some random purple and yellow flower photographs to hopefully brighten your day. I will start working on a new color story for you this week and tend to my wild little garden. Everything from vegetables, to flowers, to weeds are growing like crazy. I spent most of Saturday out there and barely made a dent. Oh well, I love it.

Lemon Yellow, Grey and Kraft Paper

Hello Friends,

Here is my recent color story for my "Color Me Pretty" column over on decor8. I enjoyed using a combination of colors that I had not used before. Lemon yellow mixed with grey, white and kraft paper brown. I was surprised how fun it was and what a nice transition palette it is from winter to spring. Please head over to decor8 to read more!
